<p>Even though my mother got a solution for me, I still refused to eat meat until now, but I drink milk.</p>
<p>She has always worried that my body will never be completely healthy without other animal products like eggs and to some extent it is true.</p>
<p>A vegetarian diet is difficult to come up with especially for people who completely exclude anything animal f 1000 rom their everyday foods.</p>
<p>In my case, I cannot call my self a total vegan (people who eat only plant foods) because I drink milk.</p>
<p>Still the bread, cakes among many other such foods do contain animal products and lots of us eat them, yet we believe we are pure vegetarians.</p>
<p>At times I worry about how I can add enough calcium in my diet from just plants, given that animal products are known to contain lots of this.</p>
<p>Although my not eating meat had nothing to do with loosing weight, I at times consider drinking soup from boiled bones, since it is rich in calcium but only occasionally.</p>
<p>Even though this soup is disgusting, I really do care about the strength of my bones; because it is easy to tell your body is weakening when your joints are &ldquo;noisy&rdquo; or bones fractures easily.</p>
<p>If being a total vegetarian means not eating meat, eggs, milk, cheese, yogurt, fish, pork and chicken then as a woman planning to get pregnant someday, you need to consult your nutritionist.</p>
<p>When pregnant, it stops being only you and naturally protecting the health of the baby growing inside a mother becomes a priority while worry about gaining weight and looking fat and ugly comes second.</p>
<p>As well the issue of how the food that would help solve a health problem tastes automatically stops counting.</p>
<p>For instance, acidophilus in yogurt that is not sweet is a cure for many vaginal problems and thus a woman who is a pure vegetarian, may be losing out.</p>
<p>To most people, becoming a vegetarian is a choice they make based on different reasons and they can still change minds again.</p>
<p>These range from their religion to prevention of many diseases medical experts link with consumption of red meat.</p>
<p>I do not know how true this is but, we all have seen people who eat animal products and have lived longer that consumers of plant products, or even others who wont loose weight that easily because of choosing to be vegans.</p>
<p>People feel that by eating plant products alone, they could avoid fat consumption as opposed to those who eat animal products and therefore lead much healthier lives.</p>
<p>The most difficult challenge vegetarian deal with is finding all the nutrients needed by their bodies in plants and not knowing which contains which substitute for animal calcium, iron and so on.</p>
<p>Seeking the help of a nutritionist or reading books meant for people of this class is the best decision.</p>

<p>2.    During World War II, sever meat-shortages throughout the world forced people to adopt a diet that was primarily-vegetarian. Much to everyone&#8217;s surprise, diet-related death-rates diminished dramatically and there was a significant decrease in disease.</p>
<p>3.    From an article about heart disease in the June 3, 1961 issue of The Journal of the American Medical Association: &#8220;A vegetarian diet ban prevent 90% of thrombo-embolic disease (clot obstruction in veins) and 97% of coronary occlusions (closed veins and arteries)&#8221;.</p>

<p>A cake mix is made from flour, baking powder, fat (butter or margarine), sugar. The baker only needs to add eggs and flavor. There are a variety of cake mixes available that<span id="more-161"></span> one can use to make mouth-watering aromatic <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.buzzle.com/articles/cake-recipes/" target="_blank">cakes</a>. Following are some recipes using white <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.buzzle.com/articles/easy-cake-mix-recipes.html" target="_blank">cake mix</a>. </p>
<p><strong>Summer Poke Cupcakes</strong> </p>
<p>Ingredients</p>

<li>White cake mix, 2-layer size 1 package</li>
<li>Any red flavor dry gelatin, 4 serving size 1 package</li>
<li>Thawed whipped topping, 8 ounce</li>
<li>Boiling water, 1 cup</li>
</ul>
<p>Using the cake mix, prepare the batter as directed on its package for cupcakes. Set in cupcake pans for 10 minutes. Mix boiling water into dry gelatin until it gets dissolved and spoon over the cupcakes. Refrigerate for another half an hour and remove from cupcake pans. Spread whipped topping over the cupcakes and add decorations as desired. </p>
<p><strong>Butter Cashews Cookies</strong> </p>
<p>Ingredients</p>
<ul>
<li>White cake mix, 18 ounce</li>
<li>Eggs, 2</li>
<li>Brown sugar, &frac14; cup</li>
<li>Meted butter, &frac12; cup</li>
<li>Vanilla, 1 tsp</li>
<li>Salted cashew pieces, 1 cup</li>
<li>Milk <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.buzzle.com/articles/chocolate/" target="_blank">chocolate</a> chips, 1 cup</li>
<li>Butterscotch chips, &frac12; cup</li>
<li>Flour, &frac12; tsp</li>

<p>Preheat the oven to 350&deg; F. In a large bowl, add the cake mix with <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.buzzle.com/articles/eggs/" target="_blank">eggs</a>, brown sugar, butter and vanilla. Beat on low speed until all ingredients are well blended. Spray the baking pan with cooking spray and flour. Pour and spread batter onto a cookie pan and sprinkle with the cashews, milk chocolate and butterscotch chips. Bake the cookies at 350&deg; F for 25-30 minutes until the toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack for 30-45 minutes.  </p>
<p><strong>Cookies and Cream Cake</strong> </p>
<p>Ingredients</p>
<ul>
<li>White cake mix, 18 ounces</li>
<li>Eggs, 2</li>
<li>Coarsely crushed creme-filled chocolate sandwich cookies, 1 cup</li>
<li>Oil of fat, &frac14; cup</li>
<li>Water, 1&frac14; cup</li>
<li>Vanilla frosting, 16 ounces</li>
</ul>
<p>Pre-heat the oven to 350&deg; F. In a large bowl, beat the cake mix with eggs, oil and water at a low speed until well blended. Spoon in crushed <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.buzzle.com/articles/cookie-recipes/" target="_blank">cookies</a> and pour batter into a greased pan. Bake until the toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Place it on a wire rack and let it cool completely. Spread the vanilla frosting over the cake.  </p>
<p><strong>Cake Mix Cinnamon Rolls</strong> </p>
<p>Ingredients</p>
<ul>
<li>White cake mix, 14 ounces</li>
<li>Active dry yeast, 0.25 ounces</li>
<li>All purpose flour, 4&frac12;</li>
<li>Softened butter, &frac12; cup</li>
<li>Melted butter, &frac14; cup</li>
<li>Granulated sugar, ⅓ cup</li>
<li>Brown sugar, &frac12; cup</li>
<li>Ground cinnamon , 2 tsp</li>
<li>Warm water, 2&frac12; cup</li>
</ul>
<p>In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it stand until creamy. In a large bowl, mix the dissolved yeast with cake mix and 3 cups of flour; blend well. Keep adding the remaining flour, little at a time, stirring well after each addition. On a lightly-floured surface, knead the dough until it becomes smooth and elastic. In a large bowl, place the dough and coat it with oil. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place until doubled. </p>
<p>Punch down the dough and roll it into a 10&#215;16-inch rectangle baking dish. Spread the softened butter over the baking dish and sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon onto it. Starting from one long side, roll up the rectangle and cut into 1-inch wide rolls. </p>
<p>In a small bowl add melted butter and in another bowl, mix granulated sugar with brown sugar and ground <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.buzzle.com/articles/health-benefits-of-cinnamon.html" target="_blank">cinnamon</a>. Dip the top of each roll in the melted butter and then in the sugar mixture. Place the rolls into the greased pan and cover the rolls with a damp cloth, let it rise until doubled in volume. Bake in the pre-heated oven at 375&deg; F, until the rolls are golden. Serve rolls with rich flavored cream. </p>
<p>Using a white cake mix makes it convenient and saves time in baking cakes and cookies. It saves one with the trouble of purchasing ingredients in small quantities. And with all that saved time, you could bake more and receive more compliments.</p>

<p><strong>Recipe#1: Vegan Raspberry Mocha Cake</strong> </p>
<p><em>Ingredients</em> <br />3 cups flour <br />&frac34; cup raspberry preserves <br />&frac34; cup string brewed coffee or espresso <br />&frac14; cup oil <br />&frac12; cup cocoa <br />2 tsp baking soda <br />1 &frac12; cup sugar <br />2 tbsp vinegar, dissolved in &frac14; cup water <br />1 &frac12; tsp vanilla </p>
<p><em>Preparation</em> <br />In a large mixing bowl, mix together flour, cocoa, sugar and baking soda. Add together the vanilla, oil and the vinegar dissolved in water, raspberry preserves and coffee. When the batter is well mixed, it will become creamy and smooth. Pour it into the greased and battered cake pan and bake it at 350 degrees for about 25 minutes.  </p>
<p><strong>Recipe#2: Vegan Chocolate Cake</strong> </p>
<p><em>Ingredients</em> <br />1 &frac12; cup organic, unbleached flour, sifted <br />1 &frac14; cup vanilla soy milk  <br />1 tsp baking powder <br />3 tbsp organic cocoa powder, sifted <br />&frac12; tsp baking soda <br />5 tsp canola oil <br />&frac34; cup evaporated cane juice (organic sugar) <br />1 tsp raspberry vinegar, optional <br />&frac14; tsp salt <br />1 tsp vanilla extract or &frac12; tsp almond extract </p>
<p><em>Preparation</em> <br />Preheat the oven to 350&deg;F. Place cocoa, flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder and salt in a medium-size mixing bowl. Whisk to mix together. Pour oil, vanilla, soy milk and vinegar into the flour mixture. Mix well the wet and dry ingredients together, until the mixture becomes smooth. Then pour it into the baking pan. Spray the pan with a nonstick cooking spray before pouring the batter. Bake at 350&deg;F for about 25-30 minutes.  </p>
<p><strong>Recipe#3: Vegan Carrot Cake</strong> </p>
<p><em>Ingredients</em> <br />3 cup shredded carrots <br />2 cups flour <br />&frac12; cup orange juice <br />1 &frac14; cup sugar <br />&frac12; tsp salt <br />&frac12; tsp baking soda <br />2 tsp baking powder <br />2 tsp cinnamon <br />&frac34; cup Granola oil <br />1 cup chopped walnuts <br />1 cup raisins </p>
<p><em>For toppings</em> <br />&frac14; cup vegan margarine <br />&frac14; cup tofutti cream cheese or soy cream cheese <br />2 cup powdered sugar <br />1 tsp vanilla </p>
<p><em>Preparation</em> <br />Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Mix well all the dry ingredients, using a spoon or ladle. Then add oil and carrots to the dry ingredients. Add orange juice and mix it well. Then add raisins and nuts. Grease the cake pan with oil or cooking spray. Pour the batter into the pan. Bake it for about 45 minutes in preheated oven. Let it cool completely. Beat margarine and cream cheese together. Mix together powdered sugar and vanilla and add in margarine and cheese mixture. Fill it into a plastic zip lock bag. When the cake completely cools, cut the zip lock bag at the bottom corner and drizzle the creamy frosting over the top of the cake.  </p>
<p><strong>Recipe#4: Vegan Hot Fudge Sundae Cake</strong> </p>
<p><em>Ingredients</em> <br />1 cup flour <br />&frac12; cup soy milk <br />&frac34; cup white sugar <br />2 tsp oil <br />&frac14; cup cocoa and 2 tsp cocoa <br />2 tsp baking powder <br />1 tsp vanilla <br />1 cup brown sugar <br />1 cup chopped nuts <br />1 &frac34; cup hot water <br />Hip whip or soy ice cream </p>
<p><em>Preparation</em> <br />Mix together flour, 2 tsp cocoa, white sugar, salt and baking powder in a microwave safe casserole dish. Then add oil, soy milk and vanilla and stir, until it becomes smooth. Then add nuts. Sprinkle some brown sugar and &frac14; cup cocoa over its top. Pout the hot water over the mixture. Microwave and leave it uncovered on a high temperature for about 9-10 minutes. Serve it with vegan ice cream or hip whip.</p>

<p>There are thousands of Vegetarian Recipes, Vegan Recipes and Recipes for meat based dishes that are available on hundreds of websites. Some of these Home cooking recipes have been handed down through generations from mother to daughter and mother-in-law to daughter-in-law. Although humans have been consuming vegetables and plant products, along with meat and other animal products, for many millennia, vegetarianism dissuades consumption of all types of meat, and eggs too. Some communities do not consider eggs as a non-vegetarian item, but in countries like India, eggs are not considered vegetarian and are not consumed by strict vegetarians. Many individuals are used to meat and egg based dishes, along with a few veggies in salads and soups. But they are unaware that there are thousands of Veg Recipes available that can be used to make a complete meal, including soups, starters, appetizers, main course dishes, and desserts. </p>
<p> Vegetarianism evolved with religions and cultures over many millennia. Many religions like Buddhism, Jainism, and Hinduism have strict rules regarding food consumption. Meat and eggs, and products made from these are strictly prohibited in many religions, castes, and communities. Thus evolved the dependence on vegetables, fruits, herbs, and spices. This led to the evolution of Vegetarian Recipes over the millennia, with each caste, community, and even individual households having their own variations of standard recipes and ways to cook food. Vegetarianism is gaining ground in western countries like the US, UK, and Europe, but the opposite is happening in Eastern countries like India, where people are becoming more aware of western meat dishes and recipes. <span id="more-159"></span><br /> Although vegetarianism does not exclude animal products like milk, and products made from milk, like butter, Ghee, sweets, chocolates, desserts, ice creams, etc, Veganism excludes these too. Donald Watson and Elsie Shringley started veganism and the Vegan Society in 1944. Veganism excludes all animal products as food, including milk and milk products. Anything that involves exploitation of animals for food, clothing, or any purpose is excluded for use. As veganism evolved, so did Vegan Recipes, which excluded all animal products for food consumptions. Veganism s 1000 till includes all vegetables, fruits, herbs, and spices, and there are hundreds of Recipes available for vegans.</p>
<p> Although Fast food and eating out in restaurants has become a necessity due to the hectic lifestyle, many families are turning back to healthy home cooking and the recipes handed down from past generations are coming in handy. Many individuals are also willing to try new Veg Recipes, meat and egg based Recipes and even Vegan Recipes. As they say, variety is the spice of life, and adding some variety to daily meals is sure to entice the family back to the dining table, instead of ordering pizzas and burgers, or taking the family out to lunch and dinner, which is an expensive affair.</p>

Here are a few very easy vegan recipes and snacks to help you choose smart, vegan-friendly food choices for your next meal.</p>
<p>1. Terrific Tofu Stir Fry <br />Tofu is a great source of soy protein,and you can use it in almost every recipe that calls for meat or eggs. My favorite lunch or dinner meal consists of cubing the firm tofu, fry with vegetable oil and raw soy sauce, and add all the organic veggies of your choice: carrots, eggplant, zucchini, cabbage, bean sprouts, pea pods, and onions. Serve over organically grown rice or brown rice and you have a super healthy, hearty meal to fill up even the hungriest appetite!</p>
<p>2. Cool Cold Cereals <br />Try a bowl of cheerios, 1 cup soy milk, and a handful of fresh strawberries or raspberries. Craving something sweet? Cocoa beans are organic so why not have a bowl of cocoa puffs or cocoa krispies with 1 cup vanilla soy milk? You can ultimately use any of your favorite cold cereals and fruit here, so use your imagination and go nuts!</p>
<p>3. Awesome Acai Smoothie <br />How about an awesome fruit smoothie for lunch or a snack? If you can find them, the Acai berry is native to Brazil but one of the super healthy foods we don&#8217;t find much of around here. You can also use blueberries if the Acai is not available. Blend together these, fresh or frozen, along with all the other fruit you want (pineapples, mangoes, bananas, strawberries, etc). Add some ice or soy sorbet and blend some more. Top it with some granola and fruit slices for a super cool energy boost! Yum, yum!</p>
<p>4. Cosmic Curried Kale <br />Everyone should eat more greens in their diet anyway, so this recipe is vegan-friendly and also all raw for those super health food fanatics like my good friend Jill from Minnesota! She calls it Cosmic Curried Kale. She de-stems and washes the curly kale, puts it in a bowl with a shredded carrot, then blends together 1 part Nama Shoyu (raw soy sauce), 1 part lemon juice, 1 part olive oil, 2 cloves garlic, and adds cumin and coriander for the dressing. Super simple and totally organic!</p>
<p>5. Cookoo for Cocoa Pudding <br />We all love chocolate, and the classic chocolate pudding is no exception. Even vegans can enjoy this well known dessert. Mix 2 cups soy milk with 3 tablespoons organic cocoa, 5 tablespoons cornstarch, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1 teaspoon vanilla until smooth. Cook it over medium heat until it becomes thick. Pour it into serving dishes and chill in the fridge! Now that&#8217;s super easy and should satisfy any chocolate lover&#8217;s cravings!</p>
