Becoming a vegan? Help?

I've recently become a vegan. Are there any “vegan alternatives” out there? You know how they have Morning Star for meat and stuff? Does anyone have that for cheese?

Thanks.

Go to a health food store, and they have EVERYTHING… I'm not sure where you live, but I go to a place called "The Health Tree," and they have vegan/vegetarian meals and stuff. I've seen vegan cheese there! But anyway just find a health food store near you and you'll find a lot of good stuff.

    Good Job Dude!

My step dad is vegan, and the rest of my Brothers and Sisters are Vegetarian. But not me. I grew up eating meat and eggs etc. and I grew up with my dad who eats meat… But yeah, there is an alternative to cheese http://www.vegproductsguide.com/dairy/cheese.html

they have ALOT of vegan stuff there!

Btw. Can you awnser my question?
If you gave up milk, cheese, eggs etc. Then Why do you want to eat a substitute? Is it because you liek the taste, but dont like how its made/animal cruelty/ect?

you should take an hour and go to your nearest grocery store [doesn't have to be an organic grocery store or a speciatly grocery store] and just explore their options. you really have to play around with it because different brands can have totally different tastes.

another great brand for vegan meats is Boca.

Ok so I have been vegan for 7 months now and was eating the Morning Star brand alternative meats and you need to watch out for some of them cuz the have milk derivatives in them. Just a heads up make sure u check the labels cuz I thought I was eating vegan until a Friend pointed out to me that they weren't. Also there are many vegan cheeses out there. The place that have the most varieties are your local Co-op. Or Trader Joes or Whole Foods. try the store locator button on traderjoes.com or wholefoods.com

Morningstar Farms' burgers aren't vegan, last I checked. I think they have egg whites in them or something (yuck!). I believe Amy's veggieburgers are vegan though.

You can find vegan cheese in health food stores or online. But be careful. Just because it says "soy cheese" on the label doesn't mean it's vegan. Be wary of an ingredient called casein. Casein = SATAN.

A lot of the vegetarian cheeses have milk protein in it. Get Soy Kaas' cream cheese (i use it as regular cheese sometimes), Sunergia Soy Foods has cheese without the caesin (milk protein), um…that's really all I use. Make sure you read the ingredients of products.

Be careful with "soy cheese". A lot of them have casein, which comes from cows. I've tried all the truly vegan cheese alternatives and, by far, the best is Follow Your Heart vegan cheese!
